We Love Kiwi: Haifa 360° Nutrition Boosts Productivity and Quality

Haifa’s Plant 360° strategy combines carefully selected products and application methods to deliver a comprehensive nutritional solution tailored to each crop’s specific needs throughout its growth cycle. This holistic approach supports key physiological processes, promoting plant health and maximizing productivity.

In the 2024 growing season, this strategy was successfully implemented on a 0.59-hectare kiwi plantation (Hayward variety) in Kouloura, Imathia region, Greece. At five years old, the orchard was expected to deliver its first significant yield. A customized nutrition program was developed by Haifa experts in collaboration with Agri SC Agricultural Service Center.

The fertilization plan included Poly-Feed™, Multi-K™, and Haifa Cal™, with Haifa Micro™ formulations ensuring a balanced micronutrient supply. To further enhance plant performance and resilience, HaifaStim™ biostimulants were incorporated. The nutrients were applied via Nutrigation™ and foliar sprays, ensuring precise and efficient delivery.

Results and Achievements: Better Kiwi Productivity

The Haifa 360° nutrition program delivered remarkable outcomes:

  • Higher Productivity: Enhanced nutrient management resulted in uniform fruit development and increased overall yields.
  • Superior Fruit Quality: The harvested kiwis displayed excellent size, weight, and sugar content, fulfilling the requirements of premium markets.
  • Efficient Nutrient Utilization: The synergy of water-soluble fertilizers and biostimulants improved nutrient uptake, reduced waste, and contributed to sustainable farming practices.

Encouraged by the positive results, the project is set to continue in the coming seasons—further promoting advanced nutrition strategies and achieving outstanding kiwi production.

This success was made possible through the collaboration between agronomist Mr. Konstantinos Vogiatzoglou of A.S.N. Apollon Kouloura and the field owner, Mr. Panagiotis Gatzoufas, supported by Haifa Southeast Europe and Agri SC.
