Leviathan reservoir partners Leviathan reservoir partners — NewMed Energy, Chevron Mediterranean Ltd., and Ratio Energies — have finalized a contract with Haifa Group to supply approximately 0.75 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The agreement, valued at around $150 million, is set to last for seven years and operates on a Take or Pay basis. The natural gas will serve Haifa Group’s operational needs and act as a key raw material for its Ammonia production plant, currently under construction in Mishor Rotem.
The contract will take effect in 2025 upon the completion of the Ammonia plant. This marks Haifa Group’s second agreement with Leviathan partners, following an earlier five-year contract, which will continue until the new deal comes into effect.
This agreement complements a recent long-term deal for supplying Leviathan’s natural gas to the Eshkol power plant, further reinforcing the reservoir’s role as a key energy source.
