IMPACT 2030: Navigating Challenges with Sustainable Innovation

Date

IMPACT 2030 conference wea held in Tel Aviv on September 8, bringing together industry leaders, Including CEOs, development managers,ESG referents and human resources VPs, to discuss the complex social and environmental challenges that the Israeli society faces. The rationale for the conference was the understanding that the business sector plays a major role in dealing with the challenges, shaping the face of the nation in years to come, and creating the fundamentals for its endurance.

It is well-understood that sustainable development must address both business profitability and positive social impact, while focusing on practical solutions.

Dorit Koltin, Haifa VP Regulation, Environment & Sustainability, participated in a panel dedicated to Impact strategy as a tool to grow from crisis situations.

In her talk, Dorit stressed the need to identify opportunities that can not only let the company survive the crisis, but also create new routes of growth. As an example, Dorit presented the Blumonia™ case: The innovative ammonia plant that being built in Haifa Negev is an outcome of the need to create an independent supply of this raw material. This project will fulfill the needs of the entire Israeli market. In parallel, a solar field is constructed, so the plant will lean on renewable energy. The CO2 emissions from the production will be used to create a range of CO2-based products. Among potential uses, this range will expand our offer to the agriculture market.

Thus, the Blumonia™ project showcases how meeting immediate challenges can also generate opportunities and pave the way for a more resilient, sustainable future for both industry and society.
