Haifa Helping Hands

At Haifa, we believe in the power of community and the strength that lies in coming together to make a difference. We’re excited to launch Haifa Helping Hands, a volunteer event across all our European offices on World Food Day - 16 October 2024 - dedicated to supporting those in need in our local communities.

What’s Happening?
We are partnering with local charities in all European cities where Haifa has an office. Our team of passionate employee volunteers will roll up their sleeves and dive into various activities, ensuring a reach to as many people as possible. To enhance our compassion through innovative initiatives, we’re lending a helping hand by incorporating various initiatives to support those less fortunate.

Fresh Produce for a Fresh Start
In addition to our hands-on support, we’re reaching out to our network of growers to donate fresh, nutritious fruit and vegetables straight from the farm. These donations will be a vital part of our efforts to provide wholesome food to families and individuals in need.

The Helping Hands projects

  • Haifa Iberia team volunteered at the Food Bank of Alcalá de Henares, helping to prepare and organize essential food packages for families in need. As the largest food bank in the Iberian Peninsula, with a capacity of 2 million kilos and the dedication of 450 permanent volunteers, the Alcalá de Henares center plays a vital role in supporting the most vulnerable.
  • Haifa Italia partnered with San Vincenzo de Paoli, one of Bologna's churches dedicated to supporting families and young people in need. Led by Don Paolo, this community tirelessly works to collect and distribute food to local families, offering much-needed support and compassion.
  • Haifa Southeast Europe partnered with local charities and institutions in Sterea Greece and Evia to provide fresh, nourishing food and essential support to those who need it most.
  • Haifa France teamed up with the Nîmes-based association LA TABLE OUVERTE for a day full of giving back to the community. They started the day offering coffee and breakfast to the community. Then, they helped LA TABLE OUVERTE to cook a delicious paella, serving their people, and selling it to neighbours. Additionally, they’re hosted a collection point where people can donate food or drinks and get groceries  in return, to support the association’s Solidarity Grocery Store.
  • Haifa North West Europe team cooked and served lunch at the Koffiehuis, a home for the homeless in Amsterdam. We attach special thanks to Wageningen University, ISFC and Bosch Growers for their generous donation of fresh fruit and vegetables.

In addition to the above, Haifa teams is joining forces with growers and agricultural cooperatives to collect fresh farm produce for food banks.

Together, We Make a Difference
Haifa Helping Hands is more than just a single event. It’s a movement towards a brighter, more compassionate future. By joining forces with charities and our network of growers, we’re not just feeding people. We’re nourishing stronger communities.

Let’s make a lasting Impact, one helping hand at a time.
Together, we can make a difference!
